Kids “Zoo-Jitsu”

Kids “Zoo-Jitsu”

Team Passos offers outstanding martial arts instruction for children beginning at age 6 up to 14. There are different groups based on their age and skill level. After age 14 they graduate to the adult class.

The program is structured to teach technique through functional games aimed to improve your child’s agility and flexibility in a fun, friendly and interactive manner. Strength, self-awareness, respect, assertiveness, discipline, and responsibility are core values taught within our kids program.

Professor Tony Passos and the rest of the team lovingly refer to the children’s program as “zoo-jitsu.” Many of the kids have picked their own “animal name” while they are on the mats.

Our kids Brazilian Jiu Jitsu program is a safe and fun way to get kids active and teach them problem solving skills that will help them to achieve their goal throughout their lives. We work closely with our students and their parents to set both short term and long term goals and continually work towards achieving those goals. Our curriculum teaches Brazilian Jiu Jitsu techniques, facilitates the development and refinement of your child’s motor skills, and provides exercise to increase power, speed, and flexibility. In addition to learning practical techniques, all instruction includes character development.  Each class connects the techniques learned to specific values: honesty, self-motivation, self-respect, respect for others, teamwork, discipline, healthy living, self-control, and of course how to have fun.

Our instructors carry with them a lifetime of martial arts experience to create a fun, friendly atmosphere for your children. The kids program is scheduled during after school hours and is finished in time to allow time for homework when you get home, or time for mom or dad to train as well. Our kids class schedule is from 5:00-6:00 PM on Mondays, Wednesday, and Fridays.
